Saarland-Palatinate Association of Internists
The Saarland-Palatinate Association of Internists e. V. (SPIG), founded in 1956, primarily addresses practical physicians and internists with the goal of uniting physicians from hospitals and private practice. It is open to all who wish to learn from each other.
The annual training congresses constantly provide current knowledge in the field of internal medicine to doctors working in private practice and clinics. From the outset, the congresses of SPIG also serve the initiation of personal relations and the deepening of existing contacts between the doctors from the Pfalz and Saar as well as the neighbouring regions. This gives the annual meetings, in addition to the acknowledged high level of science and the added value for daily practice, an additional "familiar" note, which has played a major part in the popularity of the event.
In 2003, Interplan was commissioned for the first time with the implementation of the annual meeting. The collaboration terminated in 2022.
